Stairwell Books presents:
by Patricia Riley
Thursday 5 September 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start
Adel Sports and Social Club Church Lane Adel, Leeds, LS16 8DE (use this postcode if using SATNAV)
Patricia Riley will share her personal story tonight: what it means to be a child caught in parental crossfire. Pat will also welcome Rachel Holmes of family court advisory CAFCASS, which has pioneered ways of ensuring children are always heard in cases concerning them.
At age seven, Pat was made a Ward of Court. Her childhood was nomadic, spent in an endless orbit between boarding schools and the homes of her bitterly feuding parents. Set in wartime and post-WWII Wales and England, this is an important glimpse of regular lives in a vanished era, as well as an examination of the benefits and horrors of boarding school.
Club bar will be open from 4.30pm to 11pm. Book signing and books available for a special launch price. Large free car park available.
